GSS not only provides a broad array of components to the Commercial Vehicle market, but also acts as your supply chain development partner, finding the best global sources to fulfill your product needs. Our involvement in your sourcing projects can be as large or as small as you define.
GSS will sit down with your in-house team to review your product line and determine what components and assemblies that need to have improvement in their sourcing strategies. Together we will determine reasonable product cost targets and supply chain requirements. From this activity, GSS can develop a list of potential sources for targeting a quoting program.
GSS will handle all the legwork to qualify appropriate manufacturing partners overseas. With our extensive global sourcing experience we can travel anywhere in the world, or utilize our existing qualified network of professionals in select countries depending on your requirements and budget. Each supplier site visit will be scored to a set of established metrics we developed, as well as any additional requirements you may have. A list of well-vetted suppliers will be provided to you as well as our assistance in selecting a final source, if desired.
GSS has negotiated with hundreds of contract manufacturing partners in multiple countries. We have a clear understanding of the difference in negotiating tactics based on the country of origin we are working with. We simply ask for market data of your product and your target pricing and we will take it from there. Upon completion of our negotiations, we will provide you an open book summary of manufacturing costs, quantity breaks, and landed cost estimates - including HTS codes, duties and tariffs, and estimated freight.
With the help of GSS in your sourcing project you can leave some or all of the “little details” to us. We will translate all of your product requirements into design direction for our suppliers and manage the design process with them. In addition, we will oversee any tooling development programs and program manage the launch process with the supplier.
If your sourcing project requires design and development, GSS will manage the entire process, including the production and review of prototypes as well as the coordination of all validation testing required for your products. Our network of suppliers includes both those with significant in-house validation capabilities as well as a number of outside, independent validation and certification test labs.
GSS will ensure that every manufacturing partner adheres to strict QC measures in order to produce a high quality product that meets all quality standards you may have. Our supply chain partners carry many of the quality certifications needed in the Commercial Vehicle industry, including ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949.
Finding the best global sources is only half the battle. The next big challenge is coordinating the process of transporting and importing your products in a cost-effective manner. Our experience with international sourcing has helped GSS develop a process and a network that we can utilize to get your products from our supplier to our dock or yours at the lowest possible cost and within the shortest possible lead time.
As your 3PL partner GSS can act as an extension of your warehouse and can fulfill orders upon your request. We can utilize our inventory management software, or we can use your cloud-based software if you so desire. We can deliver products to your door or drop ship product to your customers based on your orders. In addition, we also maintain an inventory of targeted Commercial Vehicle components that we sell to various distribution channels around North America.
